Gasthof Almluft - the destination for the whole family!

The Gasthof Almluft stands alone at the end of the street on the Gattererberg at 1200 m. We are far from any noise, traffic, everyday stress and mass tourism. At dawn and in the evening you can even watch the deer graze in our meadows.
In summer, our inn is the starting point for many varied hikes (e.g. Hamberg, Märzengrund - Gmünd, Wiedersbergerhorn) and walks. With every type of bike (mountain bike, e-bike, road bike) we can be optimally reached via an asphalt road. Attention children - you won't get bored with us! There is a lot of action to be experienced:
• Large playground with trampoline
• Free pony rides Our Shetland pony Wendy and our dwarf pony Helga are looking forward to a small ride.
• Various animals around the house (rabbits, ponies, donkeys, chickens, ducks, pigs)
• Nature trail criss-cross through the forest
Do you want to experience nature up close and still find out interesting facts about it? Then visit our 1.3 km nature trail with your children or friends. At the beginning of the tour, our visitors explore the various animals around our inn. Then our path leads you criss-cross through the forest, where you can listen to the sounds of the environment and even discover one or the other animal. At the end of the nature trail, you will pass our fish pond with our lively trout before heading back down to the inn.
• Bee walk with a beehive and apiary Did you know that bees are one of the most important farm animals? The bee path begins right above the playground along the edge of the forest. At the start of the path you will find a show hive. Here you can watch the "alpine air" bees live at work. The last stop of the bee trail is our apiary with currently 5 bee colonies. The bees are looked after and kept by the beekeeper Sigi Gruber - you can buy a wide variety of products (honey, propolis drops, etc.) from his production in the inn. Unfortunately, bees are now threatened with extinction and the number of bee colonies is falling dramatically. Find out more about the reasons for bee death. Along the way, we will inform you about valuable tips with which you can easily contribute to improving the living conditions of wild and honey bees, bumblebees and the like.

Even in winter there is always something going on at the Gattererberg in the Zillertal - tobogganing, snowshoeing or touring, everything is possible from the Gasthof Almluft.
By car you are in about 15 minutes at the parking lot of the ski area Hochfügen - Hochzillertal in Kaltenbach. From there you can easily get to the other great ski areas in the Zillertal by train.
FREE toboggan run & FREE toboggan rental! An approx. 2 km long toboggan run leads away from the alpine air into the forest. The toboggan run is illuminated for evening trips. We provide sledding for our guests for FREE!

Quality and local products are at the heart of our food and beverage range. The meat comes either from our own breeding or exclusively from our trusted regional butcher. Agriculture also belongs to the Gasthof Almluft - the Wiesberghof with dairy cows, pigs, chickens, ducks etc. "Traditional and tasty" - that is the motto of Johannes Bichler. We offer our guests Tyrolean cuisine and delicious homemade cakes all day long! Our schnitzel and homemade Kaiserschmarrn are among the most popular dishes on our menu. We are open daily from 11 a.m.

BY CAR: motorway Inntal A 12 - exit Zillertal - through the tunnel "Brettfall" on B 169 about 15 km to the roundabout. At the roundabout turn left - at the next cross turn right in direction Stumm. Straight ahead and at the 2nd cross turn left. Follow the street - no turn off - until you drive up the mountain. At the next cross - turn left to the Gattererberg - follow the streeg - no turn off - follow the sign "Almluft". Our house ist situated at the end of the main road on the right side.
